Just a hello. (3 replies and 3 comments)
By my username I hope you can guess I’m related too! Just having a look at some photos on his Facebook as I sometimes do whenever I think of my grandad and I just saw some condolences with BB and suddenly realised what it was. Biscuit Brown was something he spoke about a lot and some of things you posted was the first things I saw on a computer aged around 10 as he was one of the first in the family to get a computer. Always ahead of everyone!
Having a snoop on the crumbs and seeing his name just brought back some memories and new insights which I love.
A bit about me maybe. 26, a proud Brummie but living in Sydney Australia. First moved out here in 2015 with no money and a bag. Somehow a qualified mechanic for a reason I don’t know myself, worked for the Rover for a couple years ending up working on VVIP and media vehicles like ones you’d watch on Top Gear and serviced the cars for events like The Royal Wedding and Wimbledon. Now working for BMW here is Aus.
Anyway, just a hello really and if there’s anyway I could donate to the site I would love to as I know how much it meant to BN.
Just realised my Facebook connected and my username is just my name. I’ll blame poor computer lessons by Brummie Nick.
Welcome, I love Sydney, got a week there end of November, it will be our fifth visit in the last 10 years
Hi and Welcome,
We all loved your Grandad and were devastated when he left us. I have very fond memories of him and still miss his banter. He was truly unique 💕
your dad is very much missed! he was one of a kind!
Welcome Daniel. Looking back on his postings on the old site made me realise how sad the forums could be. Around the time your Grandad passed away we lost Wrinkles, Smudger was in a pretty bad way, as was Wal, who thankfully is still with us. On the positive side it's been a blessing to many who would otherwise have no contact with ex service folk who speak the same language.
